Robbie plans mystical element for tour
Saturday, May 6 2006, 14:47 BST - by Daniel Kilkelly
Robbie Williams is planning to include a mystical element to his new world tour.
The singer has apparently become inspired by illusionist David Copperfield and magician friend Derren Brown.
A source told the Daily Star, "Rob's fascinated with all things magical and mysterious and he's incorporating many elements into the show. He wants this one to be a real spectacle with aspects of an illusionist's show, too.
"The current idea is for him to be raised onto the stage on a platform in a puff of smoke, making it seem as if he's appeared from nowhere. For 30 seconds beforehand, the beeps from Close Encounters will blast out over the speakers."

Robbie Williams will arrive on stage to the eerily iconic alien tune from Close Encouters for his world tour. Rob 32, will appear in a puff of smoke when he kicks off the tour in Dublin on June 9th. He is taking inspiration from magician mate Derren Brown, 35, and big name illusionists like David Copperfield. Rob's fascinated with all things magical and mysterious and he's incorporating many elements into the show. He wants this one to be a real spectacle with aspects of an illusionist's show. The current idea is for him to be raised onto the stage on a platform in a puff of smoke, making it seem as if he's appeared from nowhere. For 30 seconds beforehand, the beeps from Close Encounters will blast out over the speakers. Meanwhile, the September dates of the tour, originally scheduled for Wembley Stadium have been moved to Milton Keynes.
Personally I can't wait to see this show. Rob Williams isn't my favourite artist, but he's certainly an entertainer. If he's given his head and allowed to get carried away with spacecraft and such, we could have a truely memorable set of gigs on our hands this summer.

Available as a Live to Air event and shot in HD, this concert will undoubtedly include a few surprises.

But is there any chance I can disappear back down with him after the concert:shake:
TheMissus 05-10-2006, 11:35 AM Wonder if they will still go ahead now that he is performing at the "not the worlds ultimate stage - Milton Keynes" :tease:

Has anyone else had the following email from the official site?
Had a quick peek .....can't see anything different yet....no brand spanking new look...yet...and no real-time countdown .... yet.....lets watch this space.....
The Encounter Gets Closer!
Undeterred by the slow start to sunshine hazy days, we at RobbieWilliams.com decided that it was time for a wardrobe change and to mark the start of the European Leg of Robbie's Close Encounters 2006 tour, we have shed our skin.
Not to worry, it's not a repeat of Rock DJ! We have re-designed the website with a brand spanking new look and a real-time countdown to the moment that Robbie steps on stage at Croke Park, Dublin on 9th June - just 10 days away.
Of course, that's not the only show this summer - and we hope you have managed to get you hands on tickets for one or more. Don't forget the Inner Sanctum subscribers' advance sale for Robbie's Australian dates ends on Friday 2nd June at 12 midday. Get in there quick to get tickets for dates Down Under this Winter.
But let's not dwell on Winter... Soak up the rays here and now and check out Robbie's new blog, a new timeline where you can step back in time to catch up with Robbie and the milestones of 1999 and... coming soon - a very sexy way to take Robbie with you wherever you go.
On top of that Sin Sin Sin is out now and you can still get your hands on the digital video download from the Shop by clicking here.. Find out more about what happened behind the scenes under Sin Sin Sin in the Music and Video section.
With all of that to feast your eyes on you'd be mad not to take a peak...
Best wishes

Vicky D 05-31-2006, 06:31 PM Oh and no new blog from Rob ....yet!!
Why send out the email before you have done what you have said you are going to do?
......I wait with excitement.....;)
shell 05-31-2006, 06:36 PM I've not even had the email - not had anything for ages.
Yes I did :D I posted up here earlier this evening ;)

joanne 05-31-2006, 07:06 PM the new blog entry is there...very odd!
oh off to read http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a055.gif
joanne 05-31-2006, 07:10 PM but I cant see the other things it promised
shell 05-31-2006, 07:17 PM Jeez! What was that all about?
Snakes with tits? Has his faith in women finally come to an end?
http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/c010.gif errm yes strange blog entry http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a070.gif Poor boy sounds like he suffering a bout of PMT http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/frech/c020.gif
And the reference to two ladies and a horse and the ramblings about false advertising etc http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a015.gif What's that all about http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/c010.gif
joanne 05-31-2006, 07:35 PM I think it's what's called he's lost the plot!!! As for the snakes with tits! either he;s wised up to his dodgy taste in women or he has been keeping strange pets again
paula 05-31-2006, 07:38 PM yeh i thought it was all a bit weird !
Vicky D 05-31-2006, 07:53 PM Blimey! ....What top quality blog Mr W is giving us now!
I could understand and forgive his ramblings if there was not a lot else going on in his life at the moment, but come on Rob, how about a few thoughts on how you felt when you lifted the cup at Soccer Aid, or what you felt when visiting No.10, or how the Beckhams bash went, or working with the PSB's, or how the tour prep is going........
The list is endless of what we would like to hear about......
I think he has gone a little bonkers and has been heading to many footballs which can't be good for you ......
As for a tour countdown clock, which hasn't appeared yet, me thinks that is an elaborate version of a thread called how long to go on a pretty cool RW site called Pure Robbie? Great idea!
paula 05-31-2006, 07:56 PM http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/more/bigs/e025.gif
here here vicky
I think they rushed to put something new on the site after all the negative comments!!!!!!!!!
shell 05-31-2006, 09:19 PM Jeez it'd take me 2 days to give that site a buzz -
Hollie 05-31-2006, 10:08 PM I think there is supposed to be a picture there... there is space for it... God only knows what the picture is of... it may not be clean enough to discuss it here...!! They are likely updating bit by bit overnight... Hopefully there will be more to comment on tomorrow...
To where the story ends at this point though, I agree with him. It IS a ploy to appear "Different" - "I want you to respect me", "I am not like all the others", blah blah blah... They all think that saying that is the one thing that will set them apart from the rest, that in saying such "upstanding" things, they will in turn earn the keys to his heart, not to mention his home and his wallet.
Me, I admit it... I wouldn't mind so much to have been in the same spot as the "others" were once... after all, I could deal with a little "Kiss and Cuddle" (and then some), eh? I think I could be like "all the others" for an evening or two...
Sorry... bit of a tirade... I best be getting home. It is 6:00 PM where I am, and I am still at work. Exhausted and a bit cranky perhaps! I will check back in later to see if anything has been updated.
tc@23 06-01-2006, 05:55 AM Hello Other RPW Consumers,

What amazes me is that they never seem to learn from experience http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/c010.gif Why not wait before sending out the email and test the site content first http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a015.gif I really think they are sincere and that they do want to offer us the best possible, it just always seems to go ''wrong'' http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/c045.gif Perhaps I'm just too ''demanding'' http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/c050.gif

vickys 06-01-2006, 08:55 AM Think we would all feel the same as Robbie if we were treated like shit from women like he is! Think it must be difficult to find a true friendship/relationship cause before you know it shes sold the story! (Hmmm Tara!)
He just has not found a descent caring woman, (he could pick me!) they all just after status and money
Dont blame him really!

tasha 06-01-2006, 05:27 PM Just seen the "new" site, which is not that different from the old one. Lovely pics of him - very yummy. Agree its a weird blog, agree with Vicky prefer blogs relating to his feelings on soccor aid, his tour, his new album etc etc etc. But I find some of his other blogs a bit weird as well.
sarahgillian 06-01-2006, 05:32 PM I had my email today, was beginning to feel excluded by the IS!
Great new site layout as well
Vicky D 06-01-2006, 06:28 PM It would be nice if we could all give our constuctive views to the IS guys and have them listened to.
I am sure they would welcome feedback on what the fans and subscribers to the site really want to see.
After all it is the fans site, and we are a collective group of real fans who joined the site cos we love Rob and his work and not to make a quick buck by buying up a few tickets to sell on ebay.
We have ideas and suggestions and the fans on the ground are the ones they need to hear from. Pure Robbie is a fab site put together by the fabulous Shell and her team, and it is the 'real fan site' for me. Why can PR achieve this but IS can't quite seem to do it? It's not rocket science!
We need to help them .....!!!!!!
paula 06-01-2006, 06:32 PM yeh , i am definatley on purerobbie more than th rw site !

lindylou 06-01-2006, 07:08 PM I know what you mean i'm always checking PR but only check IS every couple of days cause it hardly ever changes. New photos are good on official site but nothing else has changed, don't see the point really of that email being sent out!
vickys 06-02-2006, 06:35 AM Me too, thin ive only benefited with is by getting tickets early thats it more info on pr and more interesting!

vickys 06-02-2006, 07:28 AM Just seen the "new" site, which is not that different from the old one. Lovely pics of him - very yummy. Agree its a weird blog, agree with Vicky prefer blogs relating to his feelings on soccor aid, his tour, his new album etc etc etc. But I find some of his other blogs a bit weird as well.
Yummy pics, what about his views on SA and Dubai! He has already performed 4 shows so what does he think of them and how did he find South Africa, he did make Sin Sin Sin here, so surely he has some views! Do feel sorry for him when reading his blog! wish i would be introduced to him! Think id die!
Hollie 06-02-2006, 03:28 PM I love all his blogs... they are sometimes thought provoking, sometimes funny, sometimes raw, sometimes "cutesy"... a full range of his emotions... what I love about it the most though is the fact that it is HIM. It's not twisted and convuluted by the media, it isn't misquoted, it is what he is writting, gramatical errors included (Sorry Rob, but it's true...). Same reason why I loved the book Feel - it's his personality that drips from each word, each sylable...
And I agree Vicky... not too sure what I would do if I were lucky enough to be in his company... I wonder that sometimes... would I be a blubbering idiot that couldn't form a sentance, or would I be able to debate world issues with him with class and dignity? (Though I wish for the later, I think it would be closer to the former - I seem to have a defect that doesn't allow me to have any grace under pressure  !)
Laura 06-02-2006, 03:35 PM No need to worry about blubbering, we wouldn't talk at all!
Hollie 06-02-2006, 03:42 PM I would consider it a victory if I survived a chance encounter without doing anything too embarrassing (cry, vomit, etc)! Actually, knowing my luck, I would insult him desperately...
This forum will get me sacked from work yet! I have done nothing but "infosnack" all morning!!
TheMissus 06-02-2006, 04:10 PM love the blog, and it was lovely to come back from holiday to find the "new" site up and running, and also to see that I am still on the email list (phewwww!!!!).

Some concerts has something called a "golden circle", which is tickets that gives you place nearest the stage. If the concert has those tickets, those are the best to get if you want to be "where the action is". Other venues only have one type of standing tickets, there it's a first come first served kind of placing as for the best "seats". Golden tickets are standing tickets.. If you want to sit it's further away, but the seat is yours, so you dont have to stand in line for years and years..
Hope this helped a bit, and good luck at getting your tickets!!! :)

Inner Circle or Golden Circle are the same thing - small(ish) enclosure right in front of the stage.
general admission is standing. If there is a GC/IC ticket option, then GA will not get you to the front. If there is no GC/IC ticket option, buying a GA ticket and queuing in front of the venue for a month before hand (maybe a bit less) may get you to the front :p
