shell 04-04-2006, 12:56 PM WEMBLEY CONCERTS CANCELLED
source: http://www.contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/mndwebpages/wembley%20concerts%20cancelled_30_03_2006 (http://www.contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/mndwebpages/wembley%20concerts%20cancelled_30_03_2006)
Concerts scheduled to be played at London's new Wembley Stadium over the summer (06) have been cancelled because the building work on the arena will not be completed in time. American rockers BON JOVI were booked to be the first band to play at the completely rebuilt venue on 10 June (06), while THE ROLLING STONES (http://www.contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/mndwebpages/wembley%20concerts%20cancelled_30_03_2006#), ROBBIE WILLIAMS and reformed British boyband TAKE THAT had also sold out hotly anticipated shows in August, September and June respectively. It is believed the KEEP THE FAITH stars will move their 10 and 11 June shows to the nearby Twickenham Stadium, which is the home of English rugby, while Take That have confirmed they will switch to the Milton Keynes Bowl in Buckinghamshire on 24 and 25 June. The Rolling Stones (http://www.contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/mndwebpages/wembley%20concerts%20cancelled_30_03_2006#) and Williams are currently searching for alternative venues to stage their respective 22 August and 14 September gigs. Work began on rebuilding Wembley Stadium in 2000 after the original arena was demolished. The revamped venue was originally set to open its gates last autumn (05) - but its start date has slipped and slipped as contractors failed to meet targets.

Sarah 04-06-2006, 08:10 AM I wish we knew where it was going to be moved to
shell 04-06-2006, 11:48 AM I'm sure it'll be announced asap :)
sarahgillian 04-24-2006, 07:18 PM It's been almost a month now since the Wembley Stadium announcement and still nothing! It's really annoying to keep fans waiting this long, whether the concerts will be postponed or just moved we don't know.
shell 04-24-2006, 07:26 PM I'm hoping they've been moved, not postponed.
They are going to announce the Australian dates in a month... hopefully the wembley changes will be announced too.
TheMissus 04-24-2006, 07:30 PM I am hopeful we will hear something this week.
If it moves to Cardiff i may be going solo - no one else is I'm going with wants to travel that far :( But as this is my first Rob concert I will go where ever he sends me :D
shell 04-24-2006, 07:33 PM Me too and now i know Sarahs got the camping gear i'm not bothered where he sends me :)
sarahgillian 04-24-2006, 07:40 PM I've got everything crossed that its Cardiff, as that's only down the road for me but as long as I see him, I don't care where he is.
paula 04-24-2006, 07:49 PM imagine if it was Knebworth again.(i would go buy a ticket at any cost) .i hope you all get sorted soon it must be a right headache not knowing!
joanne 04-24-2006, 08:01 PM I'm keeping everything crossed for Cardiff as well
Hyde Park could be a good option http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a070.gif I went to the Live 8 concert held there last July and the atmosphere was fantastic http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/a020.gif
joanne 04-24-2006, 08:02 PM yeh I would even go for that one as at least getting in and out of it wouldnt be that bad... that's the concern for most people
mousepractice 04-24-2006, 08:19 PM Im hoping for Caridff. Apart from the fact I live in South Wales, everyone seems to think Milton Keynes is a nightmare, tho Ive never been there. Ive also heard Twickenham may be an option. If they move the date, I could be in trouble. I may have trouble getting time off work. I will not be amused!!!!
sarahgillian 04-25-2006, 10:13 AM Knebworth would be amazing but would be such a nightmare to get to
I don't think it will be Twickenham :search: Apparently they are only allowed to hold 3 concerts per year :search: And The Eagles are there in June and the Rolling Stones are holding two concerts in August :boo:
TheMissus 04-25-2006, 03:40 PM I am really praying they don't move the dates (unless they completely reschedule) as I am going to a wedding on the saturday and my daughter's the Bridesmaid http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/liebe/d018.gif . I don't think "seeing Robbie" will be an acceptable excuse not to go, somehow
mousepractice 04-26-2006, 07:07 AM Ive got a problem if they move it on a week. Someone else in work is off that week, and we cant be off at the same time! Cant see him cancelling his entire family holiday for me somehow!
shell 04-26-2006, 08:20 AM Tour Manager Thomas Golseth said on his blog yesterday that they'll be an announcement soon - venue change but not date. (he has since deleted yesterdays blog entry as the comments got abit personal)
Sarah 04-26-2006, 09:03 AM It would be brilliant is it was Twickenham...its just down the road from me...cardiff is flipping miles away.
TheMissus 04-26-2006, 09:24 AM I think Twickenham is out, but agree that it is going to be a real pain in the bum if it is Cardiff.
I think there will be a lot of returned tickets if it does go to Cardiff - general opinion amongst my friends is that they won't bother :(
Wembley was doable in a day, whereas Cardiff will involve childcare arrangements etc - I will just send them round me Mum's, they can have Friday off school :D
Just hope that what ever happens they don't refund then resell the tickets - that will be a f**king nightmare

Thomas Golseth (Tour Accounting :: Coordination :: Management) has updated his blog to reassure fans waiting for news on the Wembley gigs - Thanks Tom :)
Quote Thomas
Wembley Shows
If you hitting this site for news on the Wembley shows, all I can say at this time is that there is a plan in place and the shows will happen, just not at that building site known as the new Wembley Stadium.
The details are being worked out by all of those involved. It is not an easy thing for anyone (including the fans that bought 300,000+ tickets).
Soon there will be a press release and details of how/where/when it will all happen. I can assure you that the production value of the shows will be the same as what would have happened at Wembley.
Keep in mind that this debacle is in no way related to RW. These dates were booked 18 months ago and at that time Wembley was "guaranteed" to be completed in January 2006. We all know how that turned out.
We are all disappointed not to play Wembley, but it will not deter the producers and RW from continuing with the 5 shows nonetheless.
Thanks for your patience.

Dates will not change. That I can tell you. You may be slightly inconvienced with a little more travel, but no need to change flights, hotels, etc.

Wembley Stadium Announcement
"Wembley Stadium have announced that, unfortunately, they will not be able to accommodate the scheduled run of events for Autumn 2006. This includes the five dates Robbie was due to play in September.
We will be making an official announcement in the next couple of weeks detailing the alternative venue. In the meantime please be assured that all tickets will be valid for the same dates at the new location.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."

trinity 04-27-2006, 07:05 AM Good Morning
The data remain, this is super.
So I can let my flight. :yay: :yay:
TheMissus 04-27-2006, 08:29 AM I agree. Tom Golseth says we will be only slightly inconvenience by more travel, and not to change hotel bookings. If it was moved to Cardiff I should imagine it would be nearly impossible to get back to London that night, so I am assuming it is in or around London somewhere

Have to say that if this is where the concerts are moved to, and its a wet, its gonna be very, very muddy :(
If it is MK then what about the people who bought seated tickets http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/c010.gif
TheMissus 04-27-2006, 03:03 PM um - they are well and truly stuffed. I bought seated tickets for the Saturday for a friend. I don't think she will be going if it is moved to Milton Keynes.
shell 04-27-2006, 04:24 PM I doubt it will be there - the national hockey league stadium looks like the best option, the grass banking one would be chaotic surely?
TheMissus 04-27-2006, 04:36 PM I don't think that would be big enough - seating capacity is only 9,000, even allowing for pitch standing, I don't think they will squeeze 60,000 odd people in
shell 04-27-2006, 04:52 PM Jeez i didnt realise it only held 9000, how many does the other one hold?
TheMissus 04-27-2006, 05:17 PM not sure, but from other sites I believe its 65,000

sarahgillian 04-28-2006, 01:20 PM Aww crap!
mousepractice 04-28-2006, 03:43 PM Its a bit mad to split them, people who have two tickets may have to go to two different venues! They may have no choice tho, I suppose.

sarahgillian 04-28-2006, 08:03 PM I would rather buy a ticket for Ireland now, or Leeds and then sell the original one on.

another event site showing Robbie's booked at the bowl from the 14th to the 18th.
TheMissus 04-29-2006, 07:03 AM I do think it looks bad on RW.com that all these sites are posting info, and they still haven't said anything.
Still, as Mon pointed out, they said they would tell us by the end of the month, so maybe we will hear something today
joanne 04-29-2006, 09:57 AM I guess all these sites are doing their announcements unofficially... remember last year before the tour was announced places were selling tickets for dates and venues that didnt even turn out to be gigs...and these were from so called very official sources. I know MK is the very very very likely answer.... but in the end theres nothing we can do about it and his webiste will make the announcement when all the details are in place and there is no room for something to go wrong or else they look very stupid if they have to change their details again
TheMissus 04-29-2006, 10:51 AM Thats very true. And to be honest, I really don't care where I go to see him, it being my first time. I'm just glad I've got tickets :D
Plus, if it is at MK, I survived 3 days at Glastonbury last year, despite being up past my ankles in mud, water etc, so I am sure I can cope with one day in a field seeing Rob, rain or sun :D
joanne 04-29-2006, 10:57 AM yeh precisely. They cant please everyone with the venue change so I guess its about how much you want to see him. There will be refunds available for people who dont want to go

Sarah 04-29-2006, 05:04 PM They might, in fact they should
tasha 05-01-2006, 07:14 PM Not keen on MK. Really wanted a Stadium and much prefer to travel to Cardiff even though thats a long way away and an over night stay. But we must accept that its more than likely MK Bowl now, just wish they would hurry up and tell us.
shell 05-02-2006, 08:15 AM Wembley's Finishing Touches to Be Added in September
Wembley Stadium, the home of soccer in England, will receive its finishing touches in September, nine months after it was scheduled to be finished, construction company Multiplex Group said.
While construction of the 90,000-seat stadium will be mostly finished by June, final work such as cleaning will take a further three months, Sydney-based Multiplex said in a statement today.
The English Football Association has already had to move this month's F.A. Cup final between Liverpool and West Ham to Cardiff's Millennium Stadium and concerts by Bon Jovi and Robbie Williams have been shifted because of the delays.
The opening date will depend on when the F.A. finishes works such as outfitting the venue and setting up retail and restaurant areas, Multiplex said. (...)
More information and pictures will soon added on MULTIPLEX website. (http://www.multiplex.com.au/)

Last time I saw Rob there I was 7 months pregnant and had to control my excitement!
I'm interested to know what will happen with extra tickets going on sale which has been mentioned.
And how do we get our hands on those precious Gold Circle tickets? Is it just me, or do they always seem to never end up in the hands of the real Robbie fans?
Fingers crossed that this year my be my lucky year.
mousepractice 05-04-2006, 06:14 PM No you're right, so many corporate ones, and people paying a fortune on ebay just because they can!
TheMissus 05-04-2006, 06:20 PM I agree about the corporate ones, but I have to admit that if i hadn't managed to get tickets through the web-site etc, I would have seriously considered giving the credit card a bashing and checked out ebay especially as i have never seen Rob live before.
tasha 05-04-2006, 06:28 PM Lets hope this is true and we finally find out "officially" where it is. If this tour is the first time you have seen Robbie perform live, you are in for a real treat. :D
I have never been to another concert by any other artist that has been so memorable as Mr RW.
I have also never been to another concert where every single member of the audience is having such a fantastic time.
There is something about Robbies fans that makes them able to create a unique atmosphere that you just have to be there to experience .

Berlin was brilliant http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/g015.gif Even though I was in the very front row, it was a totally different buzz to Knebworth http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a085.gif
The only way to see Robbie perform live is with other robsessed fans http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/musik/e015.gif Non stop laughing and party http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/musik/e040.gif You can't bounce when your other half is telling you to ''calm down''
