View Full Version : Pieces of a dream, by Cristina
Cristina 07-26-2006, 11:02 AM Hi!
Well, how to start? it's always hard, even more when is dedicated to someone special.
I'm portuguese, i'm a student of sciences and i was too young during TT's apotheosis, i found you later.
Do you still remember portugal? I'll give you some help: 19/20 october 2003, pavilhao atlantico, lisbon....... i was there (1st night) and loved the show, i had an amazing time, i'll never forget! Nowadays i'm more interested on your career than i was that time. And what about the promise you'd come back soon? ok...you came for mtv awards but it doesn't count.
To those who decide the tours' route:
PORTUGAL LOVES ROBBIE, there are many fans here, the tickets would sell out... think about us next time!
Anyway, i hope you enjoy the tour.
Regards,
Cristina
Cristina 07-30-2006, 02:24 AM Hello!
I had a day off, finally! Firstly I decided to organise my space at home, ?cause it feels like organise my own mind, so it works like a Catharsis! Face the memories? kill some demons?u know!
2nd part of the therapy: listen to Robbie Williams! It was when I reviewed an introduction of Intensive Care. I loved to see it again; especially what you said about ?Spread your wings?. Now that I know better IC everything makes sense!
So, the rhetorical theme is:
How strange is it - lose contact with our schoolmates?
Oh Robbie, the way I understand your words n your feelings! We think we?ll always be friends; in fact they?re the ones we want to have beside us; they know us better than anyone else, our dreams, our passions, our fears? but everything stops last day before vacation. School?s gate as a turning point is not hyperbolic, is real! It happened to me. I also spent hours on that web site you told! Life (or maybe time) separated us, but I look back at those times with love: «we were having the time of our lives, well thank you?»
In the meantime a new cycle began for everybody. Maybe we?ve learned how to deal better with this. I think yes.
Where are those old good times? Why did things become so wrong?
These awake feelings from the past aren?t only spoken in ?Spread your wings? or ?No regrets? (I remember u said this last is about school?and about Take That) but also many others autobiographical songs?
And this theme is just an example. It?s unbelievable the way you express feelings through music and build a bridge of identification with the public. And when you say that you?re a singer, a songwriter and a born entertainer?well what can I add? Hope it never changes.
Love,
Cris
Cristina 08-24-2006, 03:42 PM Hello!
Thanks for your review at Rudebox, it’s nice to get official information.
I started looking for the original songs that you’ll cover, I’m getting familiarised with them, so I’m sure I’ll like to hear your versions because I adore all your covers till now…you’re a genius. I’d like to detach “We’re the PSB”…OMG it’s such a beautiful and timeless song (cause I wasn’t yet born in 84…lol!) that I heard yesterday for the 1st time!
Thank you for introducing the world songs that unfortunately were never recognised as they deserved or that are just forgotten by the time…and of course: thanks to enrich my musical background :)
Once you said your whole career could be the Rat Pack classics, it’s true, nevertheless I hope you’ll always write your own songs with your collaborators, ‘cause nobody does it better…
Love,
Cris
Cristina 09-10-2006, 06:31 PM Hi sweet!
What a negligent blogger I am!!!! Sorry :)
I was watching something on telly…and imagine who was there as a guest/commentator? Luis Jardim.
I am angry with that man….I must admit he is an expert, he has always interesting opinions about music…but he is impolite and a bit cynical.
At “Idolos” (Portuguese version for x-factor, where he was a jury) once he said something like this to a boy:
“you have no quality, and I know what I’m talking about because I work with the best singers in the world like Robbie Williams, you can read my name in Escapology album, end of story.” and I thought: arrogant but nice comment to be heard by a fan!
Why am I sad? Some days later, in the same contest, he said “you did it better than the original” to a girl who did a “sexed up” cover and I couldn’t agree at all. Maybe it’s just my robsessed mind :ner:
More…..yesterday while talking about immortal songs of our lives, he said nobody ever did a honorable cover for Sinatra’s “My way”……………Oh lord now I’m sure he doesn’t know your career! Sorry Luis, anyway I still appreciating your work in Escapology!
Rob I love Rudebox and the b-side though it has too much special effects over your beautiful voice…Waiting for the future to buy the whole album!
Love,
Cris
