Of course I too, haven't actually seen him live, but I tend to favor the RW show... It is so intimate...

Now I am actually watching the Albert show now, and I forgot how much I enjoyed it!!

Right - everything he does is my favorite I suppose :)!!!

Yep, that's about it.... You see that face and that smile, hear that voice and that laugh...our hearts just melt... Incredible...

It's that spark in his eye, I tell you...

I am sure he will missus. Were you at Knebworth? Never having seen him myself I can only base it on the dvds so it is hard to choose.

Angel - you have a way with words that just overflows with excitement http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/froehlich/a065.gif

ps - it wasnt the venue I was moaning about for MK, but the mess they made of the ticket allocation. I actually think I will get a much better view at MK than I would have at Wembley and I am so excited I cant wait to go http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/froehlich/a080.gif

it must have been amazing for the atmosphere to reach out from the dvd recording. I have never watched a live concert before or since that has made me feel like the knebworth one.

Laura

Never cared much for live recordings until Robbie. They never sound the same. Robbie sounds as well as he does in the studio..maybe better because of the excitement from the crowds.

best gig of his I ever went to... erm... either Manchester arena the very first tiem he played there in 1999 and we had front row and it was the biggest gig he had done at the time or front row at York Barbican.... a tiny venue and just so funny

It is so difficult to compare because every show has it's own special atmosphere and memories http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/g025.gif

Knebworth - 3 Aug '03 - Like Angel we arrived at 7.30 am, same day http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/frech/c010.gif gosh I could have been standing next to you all the time http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/c022.gif There will never be another Knebworth http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/g015.gif

Berlin - 9 Oct '05 fantastic, brilliant -front row - loved hearing the new releases http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/e016.gif And of course fantastic to see the stage and the show which now forms the basis for the Close Encounters tour

Amsterdam - 22 June '06 - See my review http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/froehlich/k015.gif

Mine either the same one as Joanne (bit to the right and one behind her!) in Manchester. Hammersmith with our £2 tickets sitting on bar stools closer then front row in Arena's or the first Dublin gig in the Point. Actually anything that didn't involve porta-loos or a field is ok by me!

joanne
06-27-2006, 03:16 PM
oh Hammersmith, I forgot the gorgeous closeness!!!!

That was definitely the best outdoor enormous field type one!

My worst was Slane by far! Getting beer poured all over us, sun stroke so we were dilerious laughing for hours at hair brushes for hours and hours, all of us sick at one time or other, 20 loos for how many thousands (you can imagine!), getting so fed up with beer being poured on our heads and being sick going to the v back, then walking through lines of buses with exhaust fumes. How we got home in one piece with me driving I'll never know, I was so sick!

I think all Robbie gigs should come with a pre-requiste for bar stools like in Hammersmith! Wonder if we'll ever get to see him like that again. I somehow doubt it!

joanne
06-29-2006, 02:37 PM
yeh slane was a nightmare.. he was great but the lead up was hideous....Sarah.. if you didnt drive us , me, Yvonne and sue would have still been in that field I think!!

I'd still say Knebworth ....and Live 8

robgirly
07-10-2007, 08:46 AM
Live 8 could be one of these, and after seeing the Berlin gig, it could be one of those as well. But the Albert Hall show is not to be forgotten aswell. So where did i go, wat was my answear. I dont know it myself either. I cannot choose just one, bloody hell!

missmaria

Knebworth and the Abbey Road gig for me. Probably. But it's hard to choose.

Live? - the only time I've seen Rob live was CE last year in Adelaide - a divine night - so much fun - two hours has never felt so long or so short at the same time!

On DVD? I can't choose between Knebworth and the RW Show - they're so different in scale and emotion - love them both.

It infuriates me how few fans have seen the legendary Slane gig in full. It is by far his best gig, alone with Knebworth imo. It just pisses me off how useless EMI are, any other record company would have all his gigs on DVD.

My fav Robbie performance has got to be The Close Encounters gig at Milton Keanes :yay:

I've been lucky enough to see Robbie live on 6 occasions but Knebworth has to be his best performance in my eyes, the atmosphere was like nothing I've ever experienced and was by far the best day of my life!!

I've enjoyed all his gigs and love all his DVD's but for me Knebworth was special.
