Not sure if this is the right thread but can anyone point me in the right direction of where to buy or download Jesus in a Camper Van?
I had the album "I've Been Expecting You" with it on which got nicked at a party - so off I went to my trusted HMV - bought a 2nd copy of the album and they replaced the song with "Its only us".
So off to another store....same. Online stores...same - apparently the album was re-issued in 2002 and JIACV was taken off it (which my ma loves!)
love you to death if anyone can find it x

me neither, it will more than likely be an unofficial thing, where they just put lots of his songs together on a CD

i saw it on SortMusic.com, the best ( and worst ) songs of RW and the album had quite alot of votes so it must be pretty well known. i wonder if it wasn't for release in the U.K?

I saw the video a lot of times on tv, but he never sing it live during the tour in 2003 and I remember I was really surprised about it as it was about to be out as a single. I don't know, maybe its success wasn't big enough to put it on the Greatest Hits?

I'm currently reading Feel (for the second time) and the other day while I was reading it, I came across some unreleased songs. The book really teases you by putting the lyrics in:re: , it really makes you wonder how the songs go!

The first song Rob talks about is Snowblind..
from the lyrics it sounds absoutly beauitful!!

''While the world was looking at you, you came and wrapped yourself around me''.

If she exists

''I know it will come in your time lord and I don't like to ask but I'm lonely now, I don't want to make demands, but time and tide is in your hands, I never ment to ask for this, but god send her now, if she exists

My favourtie american

Use my empty head, it's adveristing space

Just thought I'd mention the songs as I doubt I'm the only one that curious about them.:search: (I was trting to find a curious smiley, this was the cloest;))

Hi everyone,

Didn't quite know where to put this but I was just wondering if anyone has the boxset of the singles? I'm thinking of getting it as most of my singles have gone walkabout, but would like to know what it's like. Are the singles in their own cases or just sleeves, and what about if there was more than one CD released for a single, does the box only have one?

Sorry about all the questions! :thx:

It's in portuguese! But it seems that a record company called Som Livre( and as I know it's not the Robbie's record company) is realising this cd. with all that songs.
But I don't know I think this is not official. Well I think the dvd has nothing to do with this. But we'll wait to see if this is really official or not.

There is a news article somewhere on here about Rob not wanting to renew his EMI contract, so that makes sense Monsoon. :)

Vicky D
10-13-2006, 08:38 PM
http://www.purerobbie.com/showthread.php?t=5016

This is the thread.

I asked the same question in that thread....I think he still has more to do for EMI....

How much more of his contract does Rob still have left to deliver?

He signed the contract in October 2002 which was for 4 albums.

The £80m deal was £10m up front, £15m on completion of the first album and £55m for the remaining three records.

So 'Escapology' was still Chrysalis, as was 'Live at Knebworth'.

The 'Greatest Hits' was probably a joint effort between Chrysalis and EMI but mainly Chrysalis material so probably not included in the 4 albums.

That leaves 'Intensive Care' as the first album of the deal and 'Rudebox' will be the second album of the deal.

So am I right in thinking that he is still under contract to deliver 2 more albums for EMI?

Will his new DVD's actually be his first DVD releases under EMI?

The Close Encounters tour will have been his first tour for them. I guess they will be expecting a bit more for their money on this side as well before the deal is up.

churchmouse
10-17-2006, 11:03 AM
As Chrysalis is a subsidiary of EMI don't the Escapology album, dvd and tour count then. Surely they must.

Monsoon
10-17-2006, 11:28 AM
well...this is still confusing..if Chrysallis is part of EMI.

it would be awesome if there are 2 more albums to come...hope Rob is ok with that(considering he said he wants out)..and he will continue after the contract ends.

I just wana be sure he doesn`t leave us yet!!!!

TheMissus
10-17-2006, 12:37 PM
I am never sure whether they mean "studio" albums when they give these figures. If that is the case Knebworth and the greatest hits won't count.

I suppose that if you think about it, Knebworth was put together from the live shows and the greatest hits only contained two new songs, so he didn't really have much to do (sorry, couldn't think of a better way to put that).

I think he probably still has one more album to do.

I love I've Been Expecting You as it holds loads of special memories for me when it was released & on listening to Escapology today, I had forgotten how many tracks I didn't know all the words to as I tend to skip a few :shush:

In terms of oldies, I have a soft spot for Baby Girl Window, One Of God's Better People, Phoenix From the Flames & Jesus in a Camper Van - what a great tune!!

I think "Don't say no" is very beautiful and maybe among the best songs Rob has done. I think it should have been on the album.

Not many people buy the singles and the b-sides are never played on radio, so I think it's a shame that most people never will hear this wonderful song. :sad3:

go to www.robbiewilliams.com and then to music then to singles and b-sides

there is all information about formats and dates released and they are in release order by date.

ok there are few mistakes with b-side songs, but formats are correct - i'm making my colection after that, i'm missing 8 cd's only :)

Not too sure but I've read the artist as well as record company choose the songs to be released as singles ... I think they take into consideration 'commercial airplay' as well.

I remember reading somewhere in his book FEEL, and he said that he really wanted "Ghosts" to be a single, but that he didn't win. So based on that, I think it's the sole decision of his management and EMI ;-( .... but in Rob's case I'm sure they take into consideration his opinion, since RUDEBOX is his favorite song off the album, and it became the first single.

I think it's a joint decision, probably based on ''market trends'' but they should ask us first http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/frech/a040.gif since we're the ones that will/will not be buying it http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/frech/a012.gif

That would be an excellent experiment....ask the fans what to release and then see how it performs!

Ghosts so should have been a single. It would have been a real hit and then he could have opened his tour with Ghosts every night....Here I stand victorious...

Nah, I doubt that. He calls the shots and he has said it himself. In the book, David was just trying to convince him to release Radio instead of Ghosts and in the end Rob agreed. I doubt if Rob had've been set on Ghosts that he would've been told what to do.:wink3:

Does anyone know the worldwide sales of RUDEBOX at the moment? I have a discussion on an italian forum because someone pretend it has sold less than 3 millions copies. I suppose it must be more if at december in the worldwide IFPI chart it was certified 2.900.000 millions. HELP ME PLEASE.

I think Robbie's management would have a big influence on persuading his decision.Commercial airplay combined with expected sales would play a big part in it.Then Emi would probably have to agree.

Think the same thing. But I still think that Rob has his own opinion on the songs and the management takes that into account but if he suggests something totally wrong, they just step over it.
Don't actually know how the things work in their world:confused2:

It was written by Rob and a New York producer called Boots Ottestad, who also wrote Come Undone and Get a Little High with Rob. I would love them to work togather again. They make a great team.:wink3:

I was listening to the radio and a commercial came on for VH1-Rock honors, and it sounded like they said an appearance by Robbie Williams. I went on the VH-1 website but see no information on Robbie appearing. Ozzie Osbourn is one of the honorees, so maybe Robbie is appearing for him. It is airing in the US May 24th at 9 eastern. Hoping I am not just hearing what I want to:blaf:

Hello :)

I've just seen a Millennium single on a danish website, with 4 tracks.
But I have 2 Millennium singles, with each 3 tracks on.

Are there really a 3rd single, with 4 tracks on it?

Please help :)
Thanks.

Why not post songs that, instead of being made by Rob, have any link to him? For example, California Dreamin` by Mamas and the Papas, or While My Guitar Gently Weeps by The Beatles. They were both played before the begining of his gigs in 2006. Or, You Got The Love by The Source feat. Candi Staton. It was also played before starting the shows in 2006 and he aso sang it while making the video for Radio. Catch my drift? You next! Dunno if it`s a good idea...but it`s worth a try :)

Can anyone tell me whether Mack The Knife was released as a single somewhere? I have seen images of a cd sleeve but googling has turned up no information.

Whilst here, I know that Better Man was released in Australia as a single, and Mr Bojangles was an American only release. Are there any other songs that were not released in the UK but were else where ?

Any help is much appreciated

I found some information on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robbie_Williams). There's loads of information:

"A second single was released from the album (Swing When You're Winning), a double a-side "Mr. Bojangles/I Will Talk And Hollywood Will Listen", however it was released in Central and Eastern Europe only.

"Mack The Knife" was released as a radio single in Mexico." Here (http://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=217433) is a link where you can see the cd-sleeve for Mack the Knife.

"Better Man" was only released in Australia, New Zealand and Latin America. Here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Better_Man_(Robbie_Williams_song)) is more information.

"Bongo Bong and Je Ne T'Aime Plus" (limited international release) debuted at number 79 on the Mexican Top 100 Singles Chart, a week later it reached its peak position of number 58.

The Fedde Le Grand Remix has charted on the Australian Club Chart the week of 9 July 2007 at number 49.

"Kiss Me" (limited international release) made its debut at number 13 on the Norwegian combined downloads and singles chart on downloads alone. This version was also once featured as the Free Download of the Week on the American version of iTunes.

"Kiss me" was also a radio hit in Sweden (if you remember my article about it ;) ).

"We're The Pet Shop Boys" was released as a U.S. Club promo single in October 2008.
