With all the speculation about a possible next "Swing" album from Rob, I was wondering what swing songs would you like him to do? :hyper:

I would love to hear:

1) Frank Sinatra's New York, New York
2) Nat King Cole's Unforgettable
3) Nat King Cole's Mona Lisa

I think he would do NKC's music brilliantly! What's your faves?

Just wanted to say that I reckon that Rob shouldn't do a second swing album at all. Don't know if it's sure that he'll record one but anyways...Try something new for a change.

I luved the Swing album as well, but don't think that he should record a new one. I luv the swing music but I'd rather not have Rob to record a new Swing thing. But if he'll do it, i'll probably buy the album anyway soo.. But if I was to decide this would be my opinion.....

The Standards have always been my favorite type of music...and to have Robbie come out with a swing album was the best of both worlds! I'd absolutley love to hear another standards album...and i'm sure there's tons of people out there who'd really go for it too. Plus, if Robbie really enjoys that kind of music, it makes the idea that much more good.

i'd love to hear him sing all fo the songs mentioned, plus Dean Martin's " Return to Me", Frank Sinatra's "Stardust", "Summer Wind" and "I've Got the World On a String" and Nat King Cole's " Smile"

oh and a studio version of "My Way" would be so awesome too...or one might've already been done and i just don't know about it, haha.

I think the reason so many would like to see another Swing album i because of Rob's absolute love for that kind of music and his wonderful interpretation of them.

Hey, I've got the greatest idea,
why not just make a once in a lifetime gig and record and then publish it as a dvd. No more swing cd's needed as far as I'm concerned....Make a even better cd with totally new songs, pleez!

Thankyou Chester and Shazraz for inspiring the idea for this thread...

Rob's got it in his contract to release another swing album, the great thing about swing is that the songs are already out there, Rob just has to choose them and make them his own.

So have you got any ideas of what you would like to see on a Swing when you're winning II?

Last time he collaborated with and did duets with a group of people who all happened to be actors (not sure if it was deliberate or not) including Jane Horrocks, Nicole Kidman, Jon Lovitz, Jonny Wilkes to name a few... Is there anyone you would love to see him sing with this time around?

You never know, perhaps we might give the man something to think about that he hadn't thought of before!!

So what's your track list thoughts for Robbie's second Swing album?

Personally I will probably cry if he doesn't include 'My Way' this time around, that song could have been written for him!

My way (It is a must!)
New York New York

Oh, what.... Anything from the Rat Pack, I love it all!

But he should NOT do "Summertime"! That is a song that belongs to Ella Fitzgerald. Just like "Angels" belongs to Rob and should never be sung from anyone else.

So what's your track list thoughts for Robbie's second Swing album?

Personally I will probably cry if he doesn't include 'My Way' this time around, that song could have been written for him!

I think he said in an interview that the album already is recorded. So it might be a bit late to give him ideas, but you never know.

My way wasn't on the album, but the live version (Albert Hall) is available as a b-side (Something stupid), but I guess you already knew that? As you said, that song could have been written for him. Not many could sing it with such genuine feeling as him.

How about "Blue moon"? Is that to sentimental?

It was mentioned this morning on Sky News ( Showbiz ) by Neil Sean. He said that the album was been recorded in Capitol Studios & that it would contain 15 tracks. He also mentioned about Rudebox saying that it was successful but not as successful as Robbie's other albums.
Eamonn Holmes mentioned about Rob's Dad Pete who also sings swing.
At least they didn't slate him like the papers & think that they liked the fact he was doing a swing album again.

Songs other than that spring to mind

Everytime we say goodbye (I die a little)

With all the speculation about a possible next "Swing" album from Rob, I was wondering what swing songs would you like him to do? :hyper:

I would love to hear:

1) Frank Sinatra's New York, New York
2) Nat King Cole's Unforgettable
3) Nat King Cole's Mona Lisa

I think he would do NKC's music brilliantly! What's your faves?

I like swing music maybe because i like soo much the romantic comedies of the 50's and 60's with Sandra Dee, Bobby Darin, Doris Day, George Peppard etc....
well I would like to listening to :

1) "That's Amore" Dean Martin's song

2)" The girl from Ipanema" Frank the Voice Sinatra

3) "Moon River" ( wonderful soundtrack of Breakfast at Tiffany's)
as Vicky D said
4) "Love is a many splendored thing": my parents love song!!! they fell in love while they were atthe cinema seeing this film !!!:reyes: and of course the soundtrack of the omonimus film in wich acted William Holden and Jennifer Jones

wow it would be lovely !!!!:reyes:
